Mini sessions make me happy. They are a GREAT alternative for someone who has a small family, young children, just need a few images, or don’t want to pay full price. I totally get it! I actually love mini sessions because they are an affordable way to see some many families capture their memories. This session was my first session of the day for my open-field minis, and I also think it’s incredibly beautiful.
I actually met Brooke and Matt when I was in high school because they were high school teachers. Matt was my husband’s baseball coach, and Brooke was my cheerleading sponsor. So seeing them now with their son, who is so old to me by the way, is really special.
I love the colors that they chose! Maroon is a super hot color this fall. I can’t tell you how many sessions I have had that they chose this color, and I absolutely LOVE every single one of them. Pairing the maroon with a cream really is a great way to lighten up the scenery and, in turn, lighten up the images. It all worked really well together! Check out some of my favorites below.

Thank you so much Karen!!
Just incredible. I don’t know Brook or Matt, but Brook is my second cousin (Britain side).
Karen and my dad were first cousins.
I wish we lived closer and could get to know each other.
Either way love this shoot and knowing them or not, love my family and it’s rich heritage.
